Mian Adrees addresses participants of five-day workshop

LAHORE, (PR): Pakistan gems and jewellery sector is facing a serious crisis at the international level. Keeping in view this fact there is an urgent need to develop Pakistani gems and jewellery sector on modern lines. For the achievement of this objective private sector role along with the government is important.
This was stated by Regional Chairman and Vice-President, FPCCI, Mian Muhammad Adrees while awarding certificates among the participants of the successful a five-day workshop on export-orientation of gems and jewellery. The event was arranged by the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) in collaboration with the FPCCI Regional Standing Committee on Gems and Jewellery. Mrs. Yasmeen Kuraishi, Director TDAP, speaking on the occasion urged all the stake holders to understand that export is no longer an option but a necessity if the industry is to survive in the present scenario. Training, she said, played an important role as they can meet the challenges which the country is now facing.
Muhammad Ahmad, President, Regional Standing Committee on Gems and Jewellery, FPCCI appreciated the efforts of TDAP for arranging the workshop and expressed the hope that this process will continue. About 60 participants attended the workshop. The same number registered as potential exporters at TDAP office Lahore. Mr Asad Zahoor was consultant of the workshop.
At the end of the ceremony, Director General TDAP, Lahore, Azhar Iqbal, Director, TDAP, Mrs. Yasmeen Kuraishi and Mian Muhammad Idrees distributed certificates among the participants.
